Kurt's Universe mirrors much of the 616 universe, save that the Elf never believed himself to be training to be a priest, never started an incestuous relationship with his adopted sister, nor was sired by Azezal. His biological father was always Baron Christian Wagner. Yet around the year 1999, there was a rip torn through a neighboring realm called Ayenee that caused shockwaves across their small section of the multiverse, opening a number of worlds to one another through tears in the fabric of space. It caused massive destruction and for years, there was fighting amongst the realms where they met, many of them sometimes merging into one another without warning in the middle of what had been before.

Almost half a decade later, the rips in the multiverse were finally mended, restoring the worlds to the way they once were, but nothing could be done for the lives that had been lost, and not all creatures returned to their proper world, some by choice, others by pure accident.

Since then, Kurt's world has been in a relative state of peace. Many of the X-Men went missing - Charles Xavier, Scott Summers, Jean Grey amongst them. Those who were left worked diligently to pick up the pieces of their lives, and a decade later, it once again served as a school for those who were different, outcasts of society or even refugees from their own dimensions. Kurt spends his time teaching self defense and physical education at Xavier's Institute, primarily helping those students who's powers are physical in nature perfect their use. In his off-time, however, he has started his own troupe of artists: actors, dancers, musicians, and various other performance artists. Disappointed with the way his own physical appearance was looked down upon when he tried various times over the years to become an actor, he decided to create a place where people like him - mutants and other strange beings - could find safety and companionship, a place to stretch their acting legs, to put on shows and dance recitals, concerts, any number of artistic endeavors the members wanted to pursue. He found a way to bring all of their dreams to life. Taking a cue from his childhood growing up in a German circus, he named it "The Freak Show," a tongue-in-cheek subversion of the name so often thrown at him in hatred when he dared to show his real form in public without the disguise allowed to him by his holographic image inducer.

It's become one of his proudest achievements, and also allowed him to meet and build a relationship with the love of his life, Leia Carmody, a young Irish mutant with ape-like feet and wings in place of arms. The irony of the appearance of their mutations - a blue-furred "devil" and a freckle-faced "angel" - didn't occur to him until much later, but he sometimes likes to flaunt it with the theme of their shows or their other passtimes, such as their mutual obsession with Ren Fairs.
